I've made a lot of retrofits on my Passat B6.
One thing that I wanted to do, was replacing old climatronic panel.
I bought new style climatronic from Passat B7.
It fits perfectly, same number of screws, only problem was I had to switch some pin wires according to new pin layout that is present on Passat B7.
You need to remove trim around climatronic (you will need new climatronic plastic trim), and unscrew 4 screws that are holding your climatronic panel.
Behind panel there are 3 connectors and they are all different so don't worry about them you can't mix them at all. :)
Then you have to relocate some pins to others wires.
On A Connector (black) extract both; Pin 16 and Pin 20 and put Pin 16 on the place were Pin 20 was, leave the wire on Pin 20 loose (not connected to the harrnes) for later connect the Air Quality Sensor if needed.
On C Connector (brown): Pin 7 connected to Pin 10 and Pin 8 connected to Pin 9
On B Connector (black): Pin 6 to Pin 7
YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS STEPS (My compressor did not work until I performed the 2 step):
First Step: Basic settings: hold button AC + button straight blowing (third button from left). You will see both buttons leds blinking one after another..let them run till they come to the normal status.
Second Step :Compresor Settings: Starting the engine and hold LONG-AC + heating rear window.Let it run till it comes to the normal status.
And you are ready to use your new climatronic panel from Passat B7 :)

IzbrišiHi,
OdgovoriIzbrišiWhat was your previous climatronic unit? And which one do you have now? Cheers
Previous was factory one, old, like in Golf V.
IzbrišiThis one is from Passat B7.
Did you worked out where to put the 20 th pin ?
OdgovoriIzbrišiJust put it aside it is not being used unless you install humidity sensor.
OdgovoriIzbrišiWhat if Air Quality Sensor is being installed?
IzbrišiI have loom and the sensor.
Then you will have fully working automatic recirculation :)
IzbrišiHi. I have a 3AA907044BD panel. Is it same way repining? Thanks
OdgovoriIzbrišiYes, it is the same procedure for all conversion from Passat B6 to Passat B7 climatronics
IzbrišiHi i heard that on older B6's the recirculation button doesnt work after this retrofit. Can you please tell me more about this? I can't seem to find anything online about this.
OdgovoriIzbrišiI had no issues with recirculation, because you have two ways, automatic and manual. As long as you keep recirculation in manual mode you should be fine.
IzbrišiFor auto recirculation, wiring is needed and one more sensor. It can be done in 30 minutes (wiring, coding).
Hi, this might be true, as older B6 have both V71 and V113 motors and after 2007 they replaced it with V428 which combines both. I stopped my installation becase of this. I'm trying to find a solution which probably involves upgrading some HVAC parts and switching to V428. May I ask where did you hear about that?

i have a b6 variant 2006 i put new climatronic from b7 silver highline look and my rear side windows are constantly fogging up,how could i fix that?
OdgovoriIzbrišiHave you check with VCDS any errors?
IzbrišiAnd does pin 7 connected to pin 10 mean i cut pin 7 and put it on pin 10 location?
OdgovoriIzbrišiYou take pin no7 and tap it into pin 10 😉
IzbrišiHi mate , I did exactly as you wrote about pins16 and 20.
IzbrišiOn other pins I didnt do anything cuz it was allready wired liked that , Passat 2007 ..
The heating on one side didnt work (sometimes left , sometimes right) , now it all work fine, just a lot slower changing between cold and hot air , is that normal ?
Hello my friend, i did retrofit to b7 climate panel.
OdgovoriIzbrišiI have a problem. There are not air ( cold and hot ) center drill. But i don't remember it was before. Can you help me please? Thank you.
Did you do calibration of the compressor?
OdgovoriIzbrišihello my friend, I did the 2nd operation, but I did it while the vehicle was not running, the ac light is on, but the air conditioner motor does not work
IzbrišiDid you make it right mate , Im still having problem with this
IzbrišiHi
OdgovoriIzbrišihi guys,
OdgovoriIzbrišican someone explain if for connectors B and C, both wiring needs to be swapped?
On B Connector (black): Pin 6 to Pin 7
On C Connector (brown): Pin 7 connected to Pin 10 and Pin 8 connected to Pin 9
meaning Pin 6 should be replaced with Pin 7 ? Or Pin7 should be empty and just move 6 to 7.
I suppose the same logic applies for Connector C.
Cheers
